Earlier this year, Steve and Sandy Pell were hired by Maricich Health to create the new hero "wings" illustration for the L.A Care Health Plan rebrand. Maricich Health has nearly 30 years of experience helping Fortune 500 clients and other organizations and is a leader in brand strategy, creative development, advertising and marketing campaigns for hospitals, health plans and medical devices.
On the heels of its 20th anniversary, L.A. Care Health Plan has launched a three-year corporate brand campaign to reintroduce the health plan to its members, stakeholders and the general public, featuring this new "wings" illustrations.
The uplifting new design unifies L.A. Care's identity and ensures internal and external messaging is clear and consistent. Building on the common nickname of L.A. as the “City of Angels,” the use of wings as the creative is a connection point between this reference and the mission of L.A. Care. The wings are symbolic of the actions that L.A. Care leaders, employees, providers and community partners take to make a difference in the lives of those we serve and ensure that all Angelenos have access to health care.
The multi-platform marketing campaign also introduces the “Elevating Healthcare in the City of Angels” tagline to reflect the organization’s long standing commitment to ensuring access to quality health care for more residents of Los Angeles County. The campaign includes billboards, transit shelter ads, bus wraps, radio and TV spots, as well as digital media.
Since its founding two decades ago, L.A. Care has evolved significantly and grown to become the nation’s largest publicly-operated health plan. This growth, coupled with countless other key developments, has created the opportunity to reacquaint audiences with the organization’s mission, values and accomplishments.
